Abstract

|
Automatic determination of streptomycin or dihydrostreptomycin in pharmaceutical preparations was established by means of guanido test using oxidized nitroprusside in alkali with Technicon Autoanalyzer. According to the results, the following could be summerized.
1. Beer´s law obeyed for 100~500mcg/ml.
2. Reproducibility (S≤0.5%) is good.
3. Automatic method (S=0.7%) is more accurate than manual method (S=1.4%).
4. A large number of streptomycin or dihydrostreptomycin preparations can be analyzed with ease, speed and accuracy using this method.
